Things to do in Boston this Weekend

The cold weather has set in, but there is still plenty to do through the winter in Boston! The team at Boston Yacht Haven Inn & Marina has compiled a list of events happening this weekend for you to enjoy!

Happy Lunar New Year! There are plenty of ways to welcome the year of the Rabbit while in Boston. A celebration at the China Trade Center will be held on Sunday, complete with activities such as calligraphy, origami, and a lion dance parade! The Pao Arts Center is also holding a Lunar New Year Celebration on Sunday where you can look forward to Chinese red envelope folding, Korean dasik cookie stamping on clay, and more. And a short ride on the Red Line will bring you to The Foundry for a Dumpling Duel on Saturday.

Look forward to a weekend of great live music at City Winery. On Friday is Starman: The Bowie Tribute, and Saturday is Moondance: The Ultimate Van Morrison Tribute Concert. Round out the weekend with The Lads from Liverpool: Songs and Stories on Sunday.

Broadway in Boston has returned with the award-winning musical Hamilton at the Citizens Bank Opera House. And a new and exciting exhibit has opened on Newbury Street – visit The Art of the Brick and see Legos like you never have before!

The Sam Adams Taproom is celebrating their three-year anniversary in Downtown Boston this weekend. Visit on Saturday for a day full of music and food – including the Tater Tot Palooza!

Girl Get After It is holding a Vision Board Workshop at the Boston Public Library on Sunday. Attend and create yours to feel inspired for the rest of this year! Also on Sunday morning is a Reba vs. Shania Tribute Brunch at Loretta’s Last Call, it is sure to be a fun-filled morning of celebrating women in country music!

The Boston Celtics will be taking on the Lakers at TD Garden on Saturday. And right across the street from the Garden will be a watch party for the game at The Greatest Bar.

Warm up from the cold weather this weekend with some Hot Chocolate at Frog Pond on Sunday evening. Play in some trivia games while you are there or skate around the pond. 

A short ride outside of the city is Cambridge, a great place to explore while visiting Boston. Take the red line to Harvard and sign up for a tour of Harvard University. Be sure to snap a photo with the John Harvard statue while you are there! While in Harvard Square, see a production of Life of Pi at the Loeb Drama Center. Or for a different experience, partake in a Life of Pi Puppetry Workshop on Saturday. You will find numerous dining options to cater to all kinds of palates, start your day with coffee and a bagel from Black Sheep Bagel Cafe, and for dinner enjoy a meal at the lively Felipe’s Taqueria
